We asked some of our favorite local water-lovers to share what their must-haves are for their beach bag.
"My 'side gig' as a Standup Paddleboard (SUP) fitness instructor takes me straight off the water and into the office a few days a week, so my beach bag is probably a little different than most! I can't live without my beach bag where I keep water, 75+ sunscreen(s), Dr. Hauschka facial moisturizer, deodorant, Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray (for my hair), coconut butter body moisturizer, waterproof mascara, my favorite trucker hat, a waterproof case for my iPhone (I'm photo lady extraordinaire!), my waist PFD (personal floatation device, because it's required by law), a banana/apple/nuts, always a maxi dress, some accessories (either earrings or a necklace), and cute sandals for 'on the go' transition!"
Misty Lister, Marketing and Communications Director, Lowcountry Local First (LLF)
"I keep my beach bag loaded and ready to go at a moment's notice year round. It's a simple waterproof bag. It has 3-4 towels, sunscreen, goggles for kids, and surf wax. I always keep a visor attached, as well as ponytail holders. I have several sunscreens, for face, body, and spray for easy re-apply. I usually pack a bunch of snacks and most of the time PB&J's because we usually camp out for the day. My beach chair has a little cooler on the back, so we keep drinks in there. And yes, I bring baby powder to get the sand off."

"I make sure my beach bag is always packed. I have a towel, Solve Mizu sunglasses, 7Miracle hair spray, Shiseido 50+ sunscreen for face and body, Banana Boat sunscreen sport and Banana Boat sunscreen for kids. I also always have a sarong, Parrot Surf Shop ball cap, hair ties, and my phone. On my scandisk mp3 player, I love listening to SOJA and Iration."
